Tasting Notes
Our 2020 Jacks Falls Pinot Noir reveals perfume notes of dark cherry, crushed violets and clove from the Abel clone while the Pommard clone provided great structure and length.
Vinification
This parcel of old vine Pinot Noir grapes was hand-selected and gently destemmed without crushing into open-top fermenters. Ferments started wild and were then hand plunged. The skins were gently pressed and the wine racked to French barriques for maturation on less with minimal handling.

2020 Vintage
Our 2020 vintage saw the pinot vines crop low. This parcel of fruit was harvested on the 26th of February and delivered a beautifully balanced wine.
Wine Reviews
"Gorgeously stylish and poised, the wine shows sweet cherry, floral, olive and subtle spice aromas with a hint of mushroom complexity. The palate delivers excellent weight and flow, combined with silky texture and fine-grain tannins finishing persistent and spicy. Splendidly composed and satisfying. At its best: now to 2029." 95 points.

" Rich and quite generous pinot delivering a powerful core of flavour through its well- structured palate. Lifted cherry and a trace of African violet on the nose. Then the palate provides a sumptuous feast of flavours controlled with a firm tannin and tight fine-grained oak core. Hs a neat chalky finish that completes a very good wine". Cellar: 10 years. 95 pts
Ray Jordan, Wine Pinot, April 2023
"This rather thrilling Pinot is from a mix of Abel and Pommard clones, gently destemmed into open top fermenters. A wild fermentation and then racking to French oak barriques for maturation on lees. Vibrant maroon, this is an alluring Pinot Noir with undergrowth notes. Root vegetables, black cherries, freshly unearthed beetroot and dry herbs. A savoury style with supple tannins and excellent length. Good earthy complexity. This will provide some serious pleasure over the next six to eight years". 94 points
