Tasting Notes
Our 2020 Mt Concord Syrah exhibits perfumes of dark berries and rich spice. On the palate luscious blueberry and blackberry fruits integrate with spicy oak characters.
Vinification
Shiraz grapes are hand-picked, destemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters. The wine is gently pressed and matured in French oak barriques for 18 months.

2020 Vintage
The 2020 saw low cropping across the vineyard. The fruit hand picked delivered gorgeous aromas and flavours, thus beautifully balanced wines. We had a harvest date for this parcel of fruit on the 23rd of March.
Wine Reviews
"This is a mighty impressive example of a cool climate Syrah from the Upper Goulburn. Lots of dark fruit characters sprinkled with lively spices. There's a rich combination of blackberry with blue fruit nuances creating quite an engaging expression of the variety. A ladling of syrup dark chocolate with a cocoa addition makes for a beautiful combination. Finally, a gravelly loamy thread adds a textural feel to the palate. Cellar 9 years".

"Cool climate Shiraz, or Syrah if you prefer, offers a point of difference to the usual big, bold and explosive styles, that wine lovers ignore them at their peril. This one from the Upper Goulburn region is a very fine example of what can be achieved. The team like to see these wines spend around a year and a half maturing in French barriques. The hue here a magenta/deep purple, while the aromas are most appealing. There is a flick of oak, but it is melding perfectly and sits alongside notes of plums, spices, cherries, aniseed and dried herbs. Some truffles and black fruits evident as well. The structure is well handled and offers good focus, bright acidity and fine tannins. A linear style which has a very long finish. A fine example of the style which will surely drink beautifully for at least a decade".
